Community
What is Affiliate Potluck?
Affiliate Potluck is an online community for affiliate marketers, built around sharing rather than competing. Members swap traffic through a safelist, meet on a weekly Zoom mastermind, read a book together, and keep a directory so the people behind the offers are actual people. The name is the idea: everybody brings a dish and everybody eats.
What is the weekly mastermind?
The Affiliate Potluck mastermind is a Zoom call held every week where members bring what they are working on and what is not working. Sessions are recorded and the recordings are kept in the site so somebody who missed one can catch up. Anybody signing up is told in advance that the call is recorded and has to agree to it.
What is the Affiliate Potluck book club?
The Affiliate Potluck book club meets on Zoom every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Members read one marketing book at a time and discuss it together. Members sign up for it inside the site.
Who is Affiliate Potluck for?
Affiliate Potluck is for affiliate marketers who are tired of working alone. It suits somebody who is willing to turn up, say what they actually tried, and help somebody else do the same. It suits somebody looking for a place to drop links and leave a lot less well.
Who runs Affiliate Potluck?
Affiliate Potluck is run by Eric Philip Martin, who built the site and hosts the weekly mastermind and the book club himself.
Joining
How much does Affiliate Potluck cost?
Affiliate Potluck has a free membership and a paid one. The free membership costs nothing and is not a trial. The paid membership, called Pro, costs $9.95 a month. A Pro member can message anyone in the directory, send connection invitations, start their own breakout rooms, and open the Pro part of the training library.
Is Affiliate Potluck free?
Yes. A free member of Affiliate Potluck can earn and spend traffic credits, advertise, join the weekly mastermind and the book club, read the blog, the glossary and the tool list, and reply to anybody who writes to them first. Paying upgrades what a member can do; it does not unlock the door.
Do I need my own product to join Affiliate Potluck?
No. Most members of Affiliate Potluck promote somebody else's offer as an affiliate, which is the whole point of affiliate marketing. A member with their own product is welcome too.
What is a founder seat on Affiliate Potluck?
A founder seat on Affiliate Potluck costs nothing and includes the Pro membership for life. There are five of them. What a founder seat asks for instead of money is involvement while the site is still being shaped: turning up, saying what is broken, and helping decide what gets built. A founder seat is granted after a one-to-one call, not by filling in a form.
Can I cancel a Pro membership?
Yes. A Pro membership on Affiliate Potluck is a monthly subscription and a member can cancel it from their own account page at any time. Credits and points already earned stay with the member after cancelling.
Traffic
How do you get traffic from Affiliate Potluck?
Traffic on Affiliate Potluck works on credits. A member earns credits by viewing other members' adverts, and spends them having their own advert shown. Viewing an advert for ten seconds earns a credit, and one credit is deducted for each view an advert receives. Nobody buys their way to the top of the queue.
What is a safelist?
A safelist is a group of people who agree to receive each other's adverts. Everybody in it has opted in, which is what separates a safelist from unsolicited e-mail. Affiliate Potluck runs one as part of the community rather than as the whole product.
